2.5m thick (and 70cm wide) Mulberry Silk warp with grippy Bourette Silk weft, this is a large shawl that is thick and floppy and so unbelieveably soft. The silk makes it a great choice for summer, but its thickness and softness would make it a perfectly cosy winter choice. There are wool inlays at the tails - causing some intersting texture in the wrap. This piece was experimentally dyed after weaving and is vibrantly moody.
Final fibre content is as follows:
50% Mulberry silk
50% Bourette silk
While this was woven as shawl, it is sett at a density suitable for babywearing.
***This is a piece from my personal collection. It was used a couple of times by myself, but does not show any use. Because it was a bit of an experiment, and because it has had some use, I have reflected that in the price. **
